Send a message

THIS FUNCTION DEPENDS ON MAIL SYSTEM CONFIGURATION. PLEASE SEE TOPIC "9.2. Sending mails" IN README FILE.

"SEND A MESSAGE" was designed to let you send electronic mails on your local area network (LAN) as if they were "notes" written to yourself or others. Doing so, "notes" can be read on any network machine. For this function, it's necessary to enable a mail check program (Cloxten doesn't do it yet).

You may not have problems sending messages in your LAN, but if you want others networks (like internet) to accept your mails, you must have a smtp server configured and running. Keep in mind Cloxten isn't a mail client program.

Sender:
Display (LOGIN NAME) + @ + (YOUR HOSTNAME).
As it was written to access your LAN, Cloxten use your local variables to compose this box. In case you want to change it, and have root access to your system, configure the smtp server (sendmail, postfix etc) to mask your email.
